SOLON Expands Management Team with New Executive Appointment
Seasoned Solar and Commercial Construction Veteran Joe Benga Joins Leading Photovoltaic System Solutions Provider
Tucson, Ariz., August 2, 2011: SOLON Corporation, one of the largest providers of turnkey solar power plants in the U.S., today announced the appointment of Joe Benga to Vice President and General Manager, Power Plants.
In this role, Benga will oversee SOLONs commercial and utility-scale power plant systems business, including sales, applications engineering, customer financing, design, engineering and permitting, procurement, installation, inspection, interconnection and post-installation service. Benga will lead the Power Plants division, a core SOLON business unit, from the companys new San Francisco office. Also headquartered in this office is SOLONs dedicated project finance team.

Benga joins SOLON from Lend Lease Americas, one of the worlds leading fully integrated property solutions providers, where he served as Vice President, Operations Director, Solar Services. Prior to this, Benga held the position of Executive Vice President of Engineering and Construction for EI Solutions, following the companys acquisition by SunTech Power in 2008. Benga previously served as Vice President Construction Engineering for PowerLight Corporation, now SunPower.
Benga has overseen the completion of more than 600 commercial construction and photovoltaic (PV) projects domestically and internationally.
