SOLON Presents New Features for the SOLON SOLiberty Storage System

- Household electricity data monitoring
- Data visualization via laptop
- Extended maintenance interval

Berlin, November 12, 2012. SOLON Energy GmbH is adding two new features to the SOLON SOLiberty storage system. At the 2012 International Renewable Energy Storage Conference and Exhibition (IRES) in Berlin, which begins today and ends on Wednesday, SOLON will present a new monitoring feature and an extended maintenance interval option for the SOLON SOLiberty storage system.

The SOLON SOLiberty monitoring feature provides information on all electrical energy flows in a household and shows the current power output of the connected PV system, the rate of power consumption in the building and the amount of power that is being fed into or purchased from the public power grid. Users can also see how much power they are generating for their own needs as well as the current charge status of their batteries. All data can be accessed in diagram form for previous hours, days, weeks or months.

SOLON SOLiberty monitoring data can be viewed on a laptop and thus provides users with direct control over their storage systems, including, for example, the ability to charge the battery with grid power. The monitoring feature is now available as a standard component of the storage system software.

At the IRES SOLON will also present the SOLON SOLiberty Serviceplus, an add-on option that extends the battery maintenance interval from one year to two years. This is made possible by the addition of recombination seals and special cover panels that keep the liquid level in the battery cells constant for a longer period of time.

The SOLON SOLiberty storage system enables owners of photovoltaic power systems to cover up to 70% of their annual power consumption and be less dependent on power supply companies. The system has a capacity of 24 kWh, allowing it to cover the average daily power consumption of a family of four.
