A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is a long-term contract that allows a public agency or commercial entity to host a photovoltaic system on their property, while installation, operation, maintenance and financing of the system is handled by SOLON.
As a host you have zero up-front costs and pay only for the monthly cost of the power you use (on a cents/kWh basis), at a competitive rate that is set for the duration of the contract agreement. While utility rates may escalate based on fuel costs, a PPA host customer enjoys the same set rate for solar energy regardless of market fluctuations in the cost of fossil fuels.
