Black Mountain Generating Station

Utilizing 60 of SOLON's single-axis trackers, the 10MW plant features over 40,000 utility-scale solar panels and integrates SOLON's SCADA system to monitor and control the performance of the system.

SOLON designed and constructed the solar array and will continue to handle operations, monitoring and maintenance of the system.  Duke Energy Renewables, part of Duke Energy's Commercial Businesses, purchased the project from SOLON in 2012 and will sell all of the power generated from the system  to UniSource Energy Services (UES) through a 20-year PPA.

Powered by SOLON systems and modules, the power plant will provide a faster, more cost-effective way for UES to integrate solar power into its renewable energy portfolio for Kingman residents. UES will own and operate the system on six acres owned by the Kingman Unified School District (KUSD) behind La Senita Elementary School. It will be the largest single physical photovoltaic (PV) system on school property in the state of Arizona.

Bringing solar power to Tucson residents, SOLON completed this turnkey, single-axis tracking system in 2010 for the Tucson Electric Power Company's Bright Tucson Community Solar Program. SOLON provided the solar modules, design, engineering and construction of this system.

Pima County Wastewater Reclamation Facility

SOLON completed this turnkey, single-axis tracking system in 2010 for Pima County's Wastewater Reclamation facility. SOLON provided the solar modules, design, engineering and construction of this system, as well as selling electricity at a fixed rate through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

TEP Prairie Fire Solar Project

The 17.7 MW dc Five Points Solar Station in Fresno County, California produces energy for Pacific Gas & Electric which supplies natural gas and electric service to approximately 15 million people in Northern and Central California.  The Five Points project is part of PG&E’s 250-MW Utility Owned Generation (UOG) PV Program, a five-year plan for the construction of utility-owned solar PV stations.
